The northernmost of Japan, is known for its volcanoes, onsen and ski areas.
Tohoku includes six prefectures: Akita, Aomori, Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi, and Yamagata
Eight prefectures: Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa.
9 prefectures: Aichi, Fukui, Gifu, Ishikawa, Nagano, Niigata, Shizuoka, Toyama, and Yamanashi.
Kansai includes seven prefectures: Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyōgo and Shiga
Shikoku includes four prefectures: Ehime, Kagawa, Kochi and Tokushima.
Chugoku includes five prefectures: Hiroshima, Okayama, Shimane, Tottori, and Yamaguchi.
8 prefectures: Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, Nagasaki, Oita, Okinawa and Saga.
